A vacant seat on the Haines Borough school board is now two.
The board recently advertised to fill a seat vacated by outgoing member Brenda Josephson, after no candidates filed to run for the seat during the municipal election. But no one applied.
Since then, board member Scott Doddridge also resigned. Doddridge had served one year on the board.
Haines Borough Clerk Julie Cozzi recently told the district that Josephson could continue to serve until a new member is appointed to her seat.
Letters of interest must be sent by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, to the district at P.O. Box 1289 or at [email protected]. District secretary Ashley Sage this week said district officials hope the board can appoint two new members at its Dec. 2 meeting.
Appointees to the seats serve until next October’s municipal election.
