The Junior Girl Scouts of Haines have had a great year of scouting over the 2014-15 school year. I would like to thank those who helped make it possible: Stephanie Scott gave a tour of the borough offices, Jasmine Taylor created jewelry with the girls, Jacque Horn taught photography, Brigid O’Connor discussed what it means to stay fit and Richard Chapell demonstrated how to make fishing lures. The girls were able to have an exciting “Night at the Museum” thanks to Helen Alten, C.J. Jones and museum staff. A special thank you goes to Cynthia Allen for her assistance and support throughout the year. The girls also went rafting with Rainbow Glacier Adventures, and earned a Tlingit Culture patch thanks to Klukwan’s Culture Days. A big thank you to Tracie Sosa for being the cookie manager, and to all of you in the community that bought cookies. Proceeds from cookie sales do benefit our troop. And a thank you to the parents for their continuing enthusiasm for scouting.
