The Haines Young Eagle Scientists are postponing attending the conference to present their research until 2015 due to difficulties in obtaining Indian visas. These students and their families have been working hard on their eagle research project and fundraising with the goal of attending the GLOBE Conference in New Delhi, India. However, due to immense difficulties with the Indian government’s current visa process, it will not be possible to obtain visas in a timely manner. This has been a problem for all Americans wanting to attend the conference.
The conference is annual, so these students will attend the 2015 conference. The location of that conference will be announced mid-winter. Meanwhile, they will continue their research and fundraising.
The students and their families have spent countless hours on research and fundraising, and are truly grateful for the wonderful support the community has given them. While it is unfortunate that the Byzantine visa process has interfered with their travel to India, they will attend the 2015 conference.
