A caller on Lutak Road reported online harassment. An officer was advised. 

An officer responded to a call about a vehicle blocking Deishu Drive. 

The Klehini Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 22 Mile Haines Highway. It was a false alarm. 

Wednesday, Jan. 6

A caller reported a water flow alarm on First Avenue. 

A caller reported an injured moose on the Haines Highway. A borough police officer and Alaska State Troopers responded. 

A caller reported an avalanche blocking half of Lutak Road. The Department of Transportation was advised. 

A caller reported a person was possibly driving while intoxicated on Third Avenue. An officer responded. 

A caller reported a parked vehicle on Main Street was interfering with snow removal. An officer was advised. 

A police officer responded to a vehicle parked on Front Street with its hazard lights on. 

Thursday, Jan. 7 

The Haines Volunteer Fire Department performed a service call. 

A caller at 7.5 Mile Haines Highway requested to speak with an officer regarding a civil matter. An officer was advised. 

An officer advised that multiple moose were near the roadway at Letnikof Cove. A Nixle alert was sent out. 

Friday, Jan. 8 

A caller reported a snow berm blocking traffic on Front Street. Public Works was advised. 

An officer performed a welfare check on Second Avenue. 

The borough’s Department of Public Works reported a vehicle in the ditch on Sixth Avenue. An officer responded. 

Saturday, Jan. 9

A caller reported that multiple vehicles were caught in an avalanche on the Haines Highway. There were no known injuries. Borough police and fire department personnel, the Klehini Valley Volunteer Fire Department and state Department of Transportation responded. 

Multiple vehicles reported being stuck in snow berms on Third Avenue. Borough police and public works were advised. 

A caller reported they received calls from a neighbor stating that people in their backyard were looking in their windows on Second Avenue. Officers were advised. 

An officer assisted a driver stuck in a snow berm on Young Road. 

A caller reported snow falling off her roof that may break her windows on Deishu Drive. An officer responded. 

A caller requested assistance for one of their employees getting to work. An officer responded. 

A caller reported hearing an injured moose in a wooded area. An officer was advised. 

The fire department performed a service call on Union Street. 

A caller requested to speak to an officer regarding a civil matter. They were referred to the Haines District Court.

Sunday, Jan. 10 

A caller reported getting stuck in an avalanche and digging herself out at 26 Mile Haines Highway. There were no injuries. Borough police and the Department of Transportation were advised. 

A caller reported concerns about snowmachine usage on the highway at 34 Mile. The caller was advised of travel advisories sent out by Nixle. 

A caller reported that a vehicle slid into a ditch on FAA Road. No injuries were reported. Police and public works were advised. 

A caller reported that their vehicle was stuck on FAA road due to ice. The caller was informed of the travel advisories in place. 

A caller reported that a culvert was overflowing on the Haines Highway. Public works was advised. 

The Department of Transportation requested that Nixles be sent out with travel advisories for the Haines Highway and Lutak Road. 

A caller reported ice formations on her Second Avenue porch. An officer and borough building maintenance were advised. 

A caller on Lynnview Drive wanted to speak to someone about a custody matter. They were referred to SEARHC and the court system. 

A caller reported an avalanche covering half the roadway near 3 Mile Haines Highway. The state’s Department of Transportation was advised.

A caller reported three semi trucks parked on Main Street, obstructing traffic. An officer responded. 

A caller reported snow removal equipment not having rear lights on Sawmill Road. An officer was advised. 

A caller reported a vehicle struck another vehicle sliding on the ice on Front Street. There were no injuries reported. An officer responded and issued a citation. 

A caller reported getting their vehicle stuck on Haven Court. An officer responded and assisted the driver.
