Officers assisted another agency on the Haines Highway. 

An officer did a follow-up report on Sunshine Street. 

An officer helped a citizen on the Haines Highway make contact with another agency. 

A caller reported their vehicle broke down near 20 mile of the Haines Highway and they were waiting on a tow truck. 

A caller on Mud Bay Road reported that someone was sending multiple text messages in an attempt to contact another person. That caller was advised to seek a protective order from the court. 

Monday, Nov. 17

The police department received a protective order to serve on a citizen. 

A caller advised their vehicle was parked on the side of Lutak Road and that he’d be moving it shortly. 

A caller reported that a neighbor on Mathais had a very bright light. Officers spoke with the neighbor. 

An officer performed a welfare check on First Avenue and found the subject to be in good health. 

A caller on Front Street reported that his security lights came on. He went out to investigate and saw a person fleeing the area. 

Tuesday, Nov. 18

A caller reported their neighbor on Mathias still had very bright lights on. 

Another caller on Mathais reported that their neighbor kept unplugging their security system. An officer was advised. 

A caller requested a welfare check on a citizen on First Avenue. The caller was advised that police had conducted a welfare check the night before. 

Officers assisted another agency in the Haines area. 

A caller requested a welfare check on a citizen on Second Avenue. An officer was advised.

Officers investigated a death on Mud Bay Road. 

Wednesday, Nov. 19

A caller reported a fire alarm going off in the 400 block of Main Street. The Haines Volunteer Fire Department responded. 

Thursday, Nov. 20

A caller reported an electrical fire on River Road. The Haines Volunteer Fire Department responded. 

A caller on Lutak Road reported finding jewelry and turned it over to the police department. The information was posted on social media. 

A caller reported that someone had fallen near the 800 block of Spruce Grove Road. The citizen needed assistance, but had no injuries. A police officer responded. 

Friday, Nov. 21

A caller reported finding a cell phone on Mud Bay Beach. Then the caller reported that they’d found the owner. 

A caller reported that someone knocked on her door on First Avenue and no one was there when she opened it. An officer was advised.

A caller reported feeling threatened. An officer responded. 

There were four 911 hangup calls, two canine calls, four EMS calls and four burn permits issued during this reporting period.
