Multiple callers reported trees down on the Haines Highway and Beach Road. DOT and Public works were advised. Nixles were sent out.
A caller reported their phone missing.
Multiple callers reported power outages throughout the day. Including one on Piedad Road reporting a popping sound at a power pole, another on Lutak Road reporting that two power poles sparked, the power went out and one pole was smoking, and another group reporting outages on Beach Road. AP&T was advised, as were the Haines police and fire departments.
A caller reported a commercial fire alarm on Main Street. The fire department responded. False alarm.
Monday, Nov. 10
A caller requested transportation information on the Haines Highway.
Police assisted another agency on Lutak Road.
Borough police received a protective order to be served.
Officers assisted another agency on First Avenue.
Tuesday, Nov. 11
A caller asked for information about the hours at the border.
A caller complained about snow blocking the road at Mosquito Lake. An officer responded.
A caller reported a blocked culvert on Front Avenue. DOT was advised.
A caller reported a bear attempting to enter a residence on Barnett Drive and get into a garbage can. An officer responded.
Wednesday, Nov. 12
A caller reported a badly injured moose. Alaska State Troopers were advised.
Thursday, Nov. 13
A caller reported someone on Small Tracts Road acting suspiciously. An officer responded.
Police received a protective order to be served.
Friday, Nov. 14
An officer stopped a vehicle on Main Street. No citations were issued.
An officer responded to a vehicle blocking Third Avenue due to mechanical issues. The vehicle was moved.
Saturday, Nov. 15
A caller reported a protective order violation on Sunshine Road. Officers responded and took one person into custody.
A caller reported that the Haines Highway was very slick and a vehicle was in the ditch. An officer responded and DOT was advised.
A caller reported someone acting suspiciously on Lutak Road. Officers responded.
There were five 911 hangup cals, one canine call, seven EMS calls, and nine burn permits issued during this reporting period.
