A caller reported that her vehicle broke down in the road on Dalton Street. An officer responded and pushed the vehicle out of traffic. 

Monday, Feb. 3

A driver received a verbal warning for failure to stop on Union Street. 

A driver received a verbal warning for speed in the school zone on Haines Highway and Third Avenue.

Tuesday, Feb. 4

A driver received a verbal warning for speed on Haines Highway.

The police department and fire department responded to a fire alarm on Main Street. The alarm proved to be false. 

Wednesday, Feb. 5

A driver was given a verbal warning for failure to stop at a stop sign on Haines Highway.

A driver received a verbal warning for speeding on Third Avenue.

Citizens on the Haines Highway requested a police officer on standby for a civil assist.

A driver received a verbal warning for speed on Main Street. 

A driver reported another driver yelling profanities and tailgating him at Fort Seward. 

Thursday, Feb. 6

Alaska State Troopers requested police department and fire department assistance in a search-and-rescue at Chilkoot Lake. 

A caller requested an officer’s assistance with another person on Second Avenue. An officer responded and transported one person to their residence. 

A caller reported power lines sparking on the Haines Highway. Alaska Power & Telephone was advised and responded.

Friday, Feb. 7

A caller reported their fire alarm was going off and they did not know how to shut it off. Firefighters responded to assist on Haines Highway.

A driver was given a citation for speeding on Haines Highway.

A driver was given a verbal warning for equipment on Piedad Road.

Dispatch received a third-party report of a fox attack on Main Street. An officer responded. 

Saturday, Feb. 8

A caller reported a very strong smell of marijuana in the area on Allen Road.

A credit card found on Main Street was turned into dispatch. 

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle first parked next to another parked vehicle and an occupant proceeded to search the vehicle. An officer investigated.

There was one 911 hang-up call, seven EMS calls, and five burn permits issued.
