Caller reported that he was threatened and in fear of another citizen. 

Monday, October 7

Caller reported that a loved one had passed away. 

Caller reported a bear getting into a dumpster. 

Caller advised that a person he had hired refused to stop doing the job at his request – caller was advised if an agreement is in place it is a civil matter and needs to be taken to court. 

Caller reported having issues with another citizen. 

Caller reported a bus blocking the road, impeding traffic. A police officer responded and the bus had been moved. 

Caller reported the power had been out for an hour; they were advised to contact the power company. 

Tuesday, October 8 

Caller reported being assaulted by another person. An officer investigated the complaint. 

Caller reported being assaulted the night before. 

Caller turned in a cellphone. The owner was located and the phone returned. 

Wednesday, October 9 

A driver was given a verbal warning for speed. 

Caller advised that a bear at the harbor ripped the door handles off a vehicle and damaged another vehicle. 

Thursday, October 10 

Caller reported a vehicle parked on Main Street for longer than an hour. 

Caller reported a bear ripped the door off of a friend’s home along Chilkat Valley Road during the night. 

Caller reported a vehicle passed him at a high speed near Haines Highway and Third Avenue. 

Friday, October 11

A driver was given a verbal warning for equipment on Sawmill Road. 

Caller advised the same vehicle is again parked on Main Street in violation of the one-hour parking rule. 

Caller reported he had just shot a bear that tried to get onto his boat. Police officers were advised. 

Saturday, October 12

Caller reported he entered the wrong code and set off an alarm. 

Caller reported that her husband came home and took pictures of the residence – caller was advised if he owns the house he has a legal right to be there and to take pictures. 

Caller advised that a junk car was left on his property on Piedad Road. 

Caller left contact information with dispatchers in case a bike was found. 

Caller advised that a culvert was backing up on Young Road and the ditches on Cathedral View were running at capacity due to the storm. The public  works department was advised and responded. 

Caller advised there was a small landslide by the ferry terminal and was still actively sliding with the inbound lane blocked – DOT was dispatched and cleared the road. 

Caller reported his ex was in violation of a court order and was advised that the situation was civil and he needed to call the court. 

There were five 911 hang-up calls, five EMS calls and 12 burn permits issued.
