Caller advised Haines police that a person had been trespassed from their property. 

Caller turned in three sweatshirts they found on the playground. 

Caller requested permission to remove a sign from another person’s property that they find offensive but was advised to leave the sign alone. 

Caller reported a trespasser on his property. 

Dispatcher recorded a power outage in Haines. 

Dispatchers received a report of an alarm at a building on Main Street. The alarm was set off by the power outage. 

Caller reported an ongoing issue with a neighbor. Officers were advised. 

Monday, August 26

Caller reported a renter had destroyed property they had rented. Caller was advised to seek assistance from the court. 

Tuesday, August 27 

Caller reported a bear had been hanging out on Fair Drive for several hours. 

Caller requested a welfare check on a citizen in Klukwan and was given the number for Alaska State Troopers. 

Wednesday, August 28

Caller reported a bear attractant in the area, stating it looked like the neighbors were burning food items in a burn barrel which a bear had knocked over and gotten into. 

Caller reported a bear on the rocky breakwater at the Small Boat Harbor. 

Thursday, August 29 

Caller turned in a credit card. Dispatchers contacted the owner and the card was returned.  

Friday, August 30 

Caller advised that their neighbors left unsecured trash next to their residence, creating a bear attractant. 

Caller turned in a black iPhone – the phone’s lock screen was recognized by the dispatcher on duty and the owner was contacted and phone returned. 

Caller reported a bear had ripped off the door of a vehicle containing bear attractants. 

Caller reported a bear getting into his boat at the Small Boat Harbor. Officers responded. 

Saturday, August 31

Caller reported a disturbance on Small Tracts Road. Officers responded. 

There were seven 911 hang up calls, three canine calls and 10 EMS calls.
