The family of George Ann Smith would like to thank the community of Haines for your care and support of us while we were there recently to conduct a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life for our Mom, and to clean out her residence to prepare it for sale. A special thanks to the Port Chilkoot Bible Church for their support in hosting our Mom’s Memorial and Celebration of Life, and to our Mom’s friends at the Fogcutter for hosting a celebration of her life there, too. And a special thanks to the many friends in Haines (and Juneau) who provided food and housing, loaned us vehicles, provided labor, and provided emotional support for our stay there in Haines. And a big thank you to those in the community who purchased and / or took ownership of our Mom’s treasured possessions that the family was unable to ship to the Lower 48. You saved us a significant amount of money in dump fees. Also, a special thanks to Diann and Roc Ahrens, for their support in helping us bury Mom’s remains and set her headstone at Jones Point while we were there. We are thankful the community of Haines has always been such a loving and supportive community for our Dad (Leo) and Mom (George Ann) during their many years of living there, and appreciate the similar love and support you extended to us recently while we were there in Haines attending to our Mom’s memorial and home clean-out duties. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
