Let’s tone down the rhetoric. Assembly member Natalie Dawson has a great idea — let’s plan discussions about the challenges that we are faced with. Is the freight dock an ore terminal? Are environmentalists the only folks that speak the truth? Should we fear multinational corporations like DOWA or Patagonia?
Let’s do what assembly member Natalie Dawson suggested when she was running for assembly: Let’s tone down the rhetoric and talk to each other as adults.
Let’s get past the exaggerations such as the recent inference that there is a boatload of sulfur in the rocks near the ferry terminal.
Please read the borough’s reponse to MARAD posted Jan. 10, which answers many of the items asked by those who are looking for any argument to reduce the so called “mega-project” into a dock that only supports Haines residents.
