After many years of hiatus, women’s softball is back in Haines, and we look forward to the women’s league continuing next year and growing. This year’s teams were Bamboo Babes and Bad Medicine, sponsored by Bamboo Room and SEARHC respectively. Chilkat Indian Village sponsored our umpires for our weekly games and provided cases of new balls to get us going.
We had multiple teams that traveled to Skagway and Whitehorse for tournaments as well, men’s, women’s, and co-ed teams, many playing on both. Another big thank you to CIV and the Bamboo Room for sponsoring teams for these tournaments. Seeing softball alive and thriving in Haines again is what keeps us moving forward. We look forward to an amazing season next year, and hope to see more fresh faces.
