Why was the Board of Equalization (BOE) scheduled for Aug. 17, 2023, canceled with no explanation? One can only wonder why. Is the borough administration delaying until after the election of a new assembly which might be more favorable to the borough? Or, is the property tax assessment process in such disarray that they cannot move forward? Appellants Scott and Jennifer Canfield have an appeal awaiting a reconsideration vote by the BOE. If the original BOE members who heard the Canfield appeal are no longer a part of the BOE, how is that fair, how is that equitable? The government needs to start taking responsibility for the mess that has been created. Justice delayed is justice denied.
