I was born male and white. I do not deny or feel guilty of either of those facts. Some segments of our society say that makes me a white supremacist and a systemic racist. Such allegations without any sustaining facts are not justified. Racism is not a birth defect. It is a taught behavior that is just not acceptable.
I also had the privilege of being born American. This is a privilege I share with many others, white and non-white. Let’s teach our children to be Americans, not racists.
