The Haines High Decade of the 80’s Reunion committee would like to thank everyone who helped make our reunion such a fun, memorable experience! The weather was perfect, the food was delicious and the friends and staff (although a bit older) were so much fun to see again! A special thank you to the Chilkat Center, Lee Heinmiller, the Presbyterian Church, KHNS, Ashley Sage, Jeanine Ward, Niall Hackett, Dick Haas, Kathy and Stan Jones and Karen and Duck Hess for helping us with preparations and entertainment.
We’d also like to thank all those who donated items for our door prizes: The Bamboo Room, Some Things Fishy Gifts, Port Chilkoot Distillery, Haines Brewing Co, Ampersand AK, Alaska Rod’s, Babbling Book and Dragon’s Nook Bookstore, Miles Furniture, Valley of the Eagles Golf Course, First National Bank, Dave & Inez Gross, Olerud’s Market Center/Alaska Sport Shop and the Chilkat Bakery and Restaurant.
Many of those in attendance (we had over 100 with some coming from as far away as Florida and Georgia) commented how they had forgotten how beautiful it is in Haines and how fortunate they were to grow up here. Thank you again for reminding us what a special place Haines is! We’ll hold the memories in our hearts forever!
