A big thank you is in order to everyone involved in the recent Studio Incamminati painting workshop “Color Study with Still Life,” from our great instructor Natalie Italiano to all the participants, without whom this would be impossible. SI is a four-year non-profit art school in Philadelphia. This is our fourth summer workshop, and a rare opportunity for this level of art education in our small town. I encourage anyone interested in joining us to put your insecurities or lack of abilities aside and join us next summer, as these workshops will be ongoing as long as we fill the class and the instructors want to come. They are great at teaching to all levels of ability, and everyone comes away with new ideas and inspiration.

I want to thank the ANB/ANS for use of their hall, a perfect venue for our classes, and especially Lee Heinmiller for loaning us the precious masks and artifacts from his collection at Alaska Indian Arts. It was such an honor and privilege to use these objects in our still life paintings. As we painted images of these incredible works of art, we all agreed that they felt alive and magical, so we owe a debt of gratitude to those who carved them and imbued them with such special qualities.

Watch for the posters this fall announcing next summer’s opportunity. Until then, keep painting.
