Words are important. Your headline “Assembly snubs law enforcement reality tv proposal” of May 10 speaks volumes and seems inappropriate and prejudicial toward the assembly’s action regarding reality tv showcasing the HPD. The definition of “snub” includes “to check or stop with a cutting retort . . .to rebuke . . .to insult (someone) deliberately, to rebuff, ignore or spurn disdainfully . . .to treat with disdain or contempt . . .” Is this really an accurate description of their discussion and unanimous vote?
Your article describes a reasonable discussion and consideration of the matter. I support the assembly’s action and believe that they acted wisely and appropriately. If you, the editor, do not agree with their action, then your opinion should be stated in an editorial.
