A caller in the area of Lutak Road sought help unlocking their vehicle. The caller was told officers were unable to assist.

A caller reported a person trespassing near Second Avenue. Officers made contact with the person.

Sunday, Aug. 21

A caller dialed 911 to request a doctor appointment.

Dispatch received reports of power outages in the townsite area. 

A local business alarm system activated in the Haines area. Emergency services were dispatched and it was determined to be a false alarm.

Saturday, Aug. 20

A caller reported a sign missing from the area of Fair Drive.

A 911 call was received from a caller requesting a telephone number. The caller was advised not to use 911 for such matters. 

A resident of the townsite sought a welfare check on a neighbor. An officer determined the neighbor was fine.

A caller on Mud Bay Road reported an ATV speeding on the beach.

Residents near Tower Road sought police help with a dispute. Officers separated two parties.

Friday, Aug. 19

A caller on Third Avenue reported their lawn furniture had been overturned.

A caller on Beach Road reported a domestic dispute with another family member. Officers responded.

A Third Avenue caller reported a vehicle repeatedly speeding in the area. Officers were advised.

A caller on Mt. Riley Road reported several items taken from a residence. An investigation continues.

A caller on Haines Highway reported hearing a loud boom followed by a power outage. AP&T was advised and an officer responded.

Thursday, Aug. 18

A caller reported a person behaving irrationally and having delusions in the area of Sawmill Road. Officers responded.

A 911 doctor call was referred to the nurse triage line.

A Battle Road resident requested extra patrols of their residence. Officers were advised.

A citizen reported workers at a Second Avenue business were smoking less than 20 feet from an entrance. Officers were advised.

A caller on Main Street reported a disorderly male. Officers responded.

A Piedad Road resident reported a bear, making strange noises, charged him. The call was referred to wildlife troopers.

A 911 hang up was received.

The caller was re-contacted and stated there was no emergency. 

Another agency received a report that a Haines resident had made threats to another Haines resident. Officers were advised.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

A bicycle found in the area of Main Street was delivered to the police department.

A key on a lanyard was found in the area of Tlingit Park and delivered to the police department.

A caller reported a large bear that had been frequenting Young Road and appeared to be habituated to people. Troopers and wildlife troopers were advised.

A caller reported a vehicle parked in the shuttle loading zone in the area near Third Avenue and Main Street. Dispatch contacted the owner of the vehicle, who moved the vehicle.

A caller reported a speeding vehicle in the area of Small Tracts Road.Officers responded but were unable to locate the vehicle.

A caller reported several items stolen from a residence in the area of Sawmill Road. An officer contacted the caller.

Several callers reported a man behaving aggressively around Main Street. Officers responded and made contact with the subject, who was warned for disorderly conduct.

An employee at a Mission Street business advised that a customer had received a fraudulent telephone call. The employee was advised to have the customer report the incident.

A business owner reported receiving a counterfeit bill at her Main Street business. The bill was determined to be real.

A caller reported a male behaving aggressively at a residence on Second Avenue. Police responded.

Tuesday, Aug. 16

A citizen reported an out-of-state vehicle with an offensive bumper sticker on Main Street. Officers were advised.

A citizen reported a suspicious vehicle in the area of the Port Chilkoot Dock. The citizen requested officers patrol the area to thwart potential mischief.

A caller reported their dog ran away in the area of Sawmill Road. Police notified the rescue kennel.

While on patrol, an officer secured an open door to a business located on Main Street.
