Troopers arrested a man for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and lodged him in the Haines jail.

A Mud Bay Road resident reported another person told her a cabin on the resident’s property was being used as a “love shack.” The resident was advised to post “No Trespassing” signs.

Saturday, March 28

Police received a report of an injured eagle in the area past the end of River Road. The person said a woman found the eagle while walking her dogs. Wildlife troopers were advised.

Friday, March 27

A caller reported a white pickup truck parked on the wrong side of Battle Road. An officer responded, contacted the driver and issued a warning for illegal parking.

Police and fire personnel responded to a fire alarm for an apartment complex on Second Avenue. A resident had left plastic on a hot stove top, creating smoke.

A caller reported juveniles were attempting to access a shed near the park on Second Avenue. An officer responded and issued a warning for trespassing.

A caller reported smoke and a smoldering pile of wood at 3 Mile Haines Highway. An officer responded and found the remains of a controlled burn.

A caller reported fireworks and loud bangs coming from the Eagle Bluff area. Troopers were advised.

Thursday, March 26

A 911 caller reported hearing a loud crash in the downstairs area of a home in the Highland Estates area. An officer responded and checked the home. No signs of entry or tracks were found outside. The officer told the caller to make sure all windows were secured and locked.

A caller reported an altercation between two women on Mathias Avenue regarding one of the women putting glue on the locks of another woman’s doors. An officer responded and found the locks had been glued. A case was initiated for criminal mischief.

A woman came to the station to request an ambulance after being run into by another woman’s car. Police charged a woman with second-degree assault.

Wednesday, March 25

A person asked police to conduct a welfare check on a man on Young Road. The caller said a neighbor without a phone asked him to call, as the neighbor thought she heard a man yelling for help. An officer responded and spoke with the person who had allegedly been yelling for help. The officer determined the person was fine.

A traffic stop resulted in a warning for a defective taillight.

Tuesday, March 24

A parent called with concerns about her child wanting to run away. The parent talked with school officials and an officer. Suggestions for dealing with the issue were provided.

A person called to complain about a number of businesses that told him he wasn’t welcome. Police told the caller it is a business’s right to refuse service and he could contact the court for further help.

A Dusty Trails resident reported someone had attempted to break into her car. She said the car was still locked and nothing had been taken. She wanted police to be aware of the issue.

A Deishu Drive resident reported she feared evangelizing individuals who had been in the area and were coming back. She said she didn’t want to be preached at. An officer responded but was unable to locate the individuals.
