A person reported a man with gray hair and a backpack sitting in front of the Haines Sheldon Museum yelling at people. Police responded but the man was gone.

Sunday, May 8

A woman reported a man was harassing her. Police responded and arrested a 74-year-old man for driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

A caller reported hearing fireworks near 1 Mile Haines Highway. Police responded and met with a group of juveniles who said they wouldn’t set off any more fireworks.

Friday, May 6

A caller reported a tree in the southbound lane near 8 Mile Haines Highway. State road crews and troopers responded to move the tree.

Police arrested a 65-year-old man for violating conditions of release.

Dispatch received a ring-in alarm from a pump station. Public Works was advised.

Thursday, May 5

A caller reported a horse out of its corral on Letnikof Road. Dispatch left a message for the owner to corral the horse. Troopers were advised.

A Juneau probation officer asked for help locating a probationer. Police responded to a residence on Fourth Avenue and relayed a message to contact the probation officer.

Police helped troopers stop a driver who was illegally towing a vehicle along Old Haines Highway. The vehicle being towed was parked until a better method of moving the vehicle could be found.

Wednesday, May 4

A Barnett Drive resident reported a controlled burn had gotten out of control and spread to a ditch. The Haines Volunteer Fire Department responded and put the fire out.

A caller reported a window was broken out on her vehicle. An officer met with the caller.

An apartment resident reported a man who had been banned from his property was on the premises. Police responded but were unable to locate the trespasser.
