An officer reported a business’s door was open on Front Street. The business owner met with the officer and secured the building.
A person came to the station to report their neighbor was acting suspiciously.
A traffic stop at 3 Mile Haines Highway resulted in the arrest of a Haines man for driving under the influence.
A traffic stop resulted in a citation for failure to carry proof of insurance.
Saturday, April 9
A caller reported a broken pipe in the Tlingit Park women’s bathroom.
A hotel manager reported a man who was not a hotel guest was trying to gain entry to the hotel and banging on the doors. Police responded and the intoxicated man was taken into protective custody.
Traffic stops resulted in two citations for failure to carry proof of insurance, open container of alcohol, inoperable brake light and improperly displayed license plate.
Friday, April 8
A caller reported garbage being dumped around 4 Mile Mud Bay Road. Troopers were advised.
Police initiated a case for misconduct involving a controlled substance.
A tenant asked for help contacting his landlord because he had locked himself out of his apartment. An officer responded and assisted.
Traffic stops resulted in two citations for misconduct involving a controlled substance, a citation for speeding, two warnings for speeding and a warning for inoperable headlight.
Thursday, April 7
A caller reported a black truck was circling the area around his residence. An officer responded and met with the vehicle owner.
A caller reported smoke coming from the mountainside near 6.5 Mile Haines Highway. The caller was advised it was a controlled burn. A Mud Bay Road resident asked to talk to an officer about a trespass order. An officer met with the resident.
Wednesday, April 6
A caller reported a vehicle parked in the yellow zone along a Main Street curb making it difficult for drivers to see around it. An officer responded and wrote a citation.
A person came to the station to ask for help with an out-of-state custody issue.
Tuesday, April 5
Dispatch received a 911 call fading in and out. The caller ended the call before details could be gathered, and it repeatedly went to voicemail when dispatch tried to call back. Police, troopers and the Juneau Police Department were advised.
A 911 caller said his neighbor’s sauna on Mud Bay Road was on fire. The fire department responded.
A Main Street business caller asked the owner of a vehicle be advised the vehicle needed to be moved so the business could unload supplies. The owner moved the vehicle.
A caller on Third Avenue reported a person driving who was supposed to be using an ignition interlock device in their vehicle.
