The Easy Leaves, a honky-tonk band from Fresno, Calif., will perform at the Chilkat Center auditorium starting 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 6.
The band, which has opened for acts including Ry Cooder, Asleep at the Wheel and Willie Nelson, is touring in Southeast, said Matt Whitman of the Haines Arts Council, which is sponsoring the show. The band’s music has been compared to that of The Avett Brothers and Wilco.
“It should be a rocking evening. I caught some of their music on ‘The 78 Project,’” a film recently shown in Haines, Whitman said. “We think people will enjoy their music.”
Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for arts council members. Beer and wine will be served.
