Dispatch received a call from a Whitehorse, Y.T., business asking for police assistance in contacting the owner of a vehicle that had been left at the business for two weeks. An officer was advised.

A man reported a vehicle blocking Fourth Avenue. An officer contacted the owner and advised the person not to block the road.

A woman reported she found a water cap that came off a Main Street pipe. She moved the cap off the road. The borough’s water and sewer department was advised.

Police arrested a 32-year-old Haines woman for driving with a revoked license.

A man reported a large turkey in the middle of Beach Road. The man said it appeared to be a domesticated turkey. An officer and the Haines Animal Rescue Kennel were advised.

Sunday, Feb. 21

A woman asked an officer to respond to a domestic disturbance. She had asked a man to leave her residence, but he instead fell asleep in a truck on the property. Police responded and arrested a 35-year-old man for violating conditions of release and violating a no-contact order.

A person called about child custody information. She was referred to the court.

An officer advised he would be moving large chunks of ice off Letnikof Road.

Saturday, Feb. 20

A woman reported a fraudulent call. Dispatch told the woman to contact her phone service provider to have the number blocked.

A person reported hearing a loud “boom” from an upstairs apartment on Second Avenue. The woman said she would try to contact the apartment manager.

Dispatch received a report of a single-vehicle rollover at 22 Mile Haines Highway. Police responded. There were no injuries.

A person reported almost hitting a pedestrian on Second Avenue because her vehicle slid on the ice. An officer responded and determined the intersection was normal for winter weather conditions.

Friday, Feb. 19

A caller reported a man sleeping in the laundry room of a Third Avenue business. An officer was advised.

A woman reported a man in a nearby yard. An officer was advised.

A man reported a downed tree on Beach Road. A borough worker responded.

A person reported a suspicious vehicle on Union Street. An officer responded.

A woman reported a suspicious man in the laundry room of a business on Haines Highway. Officers responded and removed the man from the property.

Thursday, Feb. 18

A 911 caller reported someone broke into a local business on the Haines Highway. Officers responded.

A person reported a suspicious man walking along the Haines Highway. An officer responded and spoke with the man.

A man came to the station to report receiving a fraudulent email.

Police arrested a man on outstanding California warrants. The man was taken into custody pending an extradition hearing.

A Mathias Avenue resident reported three people have been breaking into her basement at night to look for things to steal. An officer was advised.

An officer removed a rock from 2.5 Mile Haines Highway.

Wednesday, Feb. 17

A woman reported someone had been logging on her property without her permission. The woman called back shortly thereafter to say she made contact with the person.

A person reported a white pickup truck parked on Bjornstad and Muncaster roads since noon. An officer was advised.

A person asked police to conduct a welfare check on her daughter and a local man. An officer contacted the individuals, who were fine.

Tuesday, Feb. 16

A caller asked for information regarding a civil issue. The caller was advised to contact an attorney.

A person reported his fire alarm went off but he didn’t find any smoke or flames. He said it might be the carbon monoxide detector. The fire chief was advised to contact the caller.
