Police received a civil packet to serve on a Haines resident.
A caller asked police to conduct a welfare check on a 6.5 Mile Haines Highway resident. The caller said the person was possibly camping near the Battery Point trailhead. An officer and trooper checked for the man but couldn’t find him.
Police served a domestic violence protective order on a Haines resident.
Police received a notice of hearing from the court and served it on a Haines resident.
A Lynnview Drive resident reported two stray cats had been on her porch for four days. Haines Animal Rescue Kennel was advised.
Sunday, Jan. 25
A person reported the door on a telephone switch box near the intersection of Third Avenue and Main Street was apparently blown open by the wind. Alaska Power and Telephone was advised.
Saturday, Jan. 24
A motorist reported a boulder in the outbound lane near 15 Mile Haines Highway. State road crews removed the boulder.
A Mud Bay Road housesitter reported being bitten by the dog he was watching. He asked police to remove the dog from the house, even though it was chained up outside. An officer and the Haines Animal Rescue Kennel animal control officer responded, but the caller had left and returned to his home. Police turned the case over to HARK.
A 26 Mile Haines Highway resident reported a possible domestic disturbance. Troopers responded.
Two callers reported a flashing light on Front Street. Dispatch also received a warning alarm for the sewer pump in the area. Water personnel were already working on the issue.
Friday, Jan. 23
A caller reported a tree blocking a lane on Beach Road. State road crews removed the tree.
Police served a protective order on a Haines woman.
Thursday, Jan. 22
A caller reported a gas tank taken from his boat while it was parked in an alley off Second Avenue. An officer investigated and initiated a case.
Wednesday, Jan. 21
A person reported a possibly abandoned vehicle on private property on Lutak Road. An officer later advised permission had been given for the vehicle owner to park on the property.
Police arrested a Haines man on an out-of-state warrant. He was booked into the Haines jail.
A caller reported a possible domestic dispute near Union Street involving an intoxicated man and woman. Officers responded and determined no crime had occurred. The man and woman were separated.
Tuesday, Jan. 20
A caller reported rockslide debris on Lutak Road near the ferry terminal. State road crews were advised.
Police served a civil packet.
A person reported three inches of slush on the Haines Highway near Klukwan. State road crews were advised. A person reported a boulder blocking a lane on Mud Bay Road near the spring. An officer responded but was unable to move the boulder. State crews responded and removed it.
