An administrator of a local assisted living agency asked for information regarding potential police assistance. The caller was advised to call if help was needed.
A person reported a vehicle on its side in a ditch near 3 Mile Haines Highway. Police, fire and ambulance responded. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was to remain in the ditch until weather allows removal.
Sunday, Jan. 24
A caller reported an apparent violation of a protective order at a Main Street bar. Police interviewed witnesses and the caller filed a report.
Dispatch felt an earthquake at the station.
Saturday, Jan. 23
A caller on Union Street reported two women were calling him after being told not to. He was advised to ask the phone company about blocking the caller.
Friday, Jan. 22
A 911 caller at a Second Avenue lodging establishment reported a suspicious vehicle driving slowly. The caller said the car entered the parking lot, left, drove down Front Street and then drove back up Second Avenue.
A motorist reported hitting a moose at 23 Mile Haines Highway. The caller was uninjured, but his windshield was shattered. The caller had driven back to Haines to make the report. Troopers were advised.
Thursday, Jan. 21
An accident involving a rollover was reported on Mud Bay Road on the Letnikof side of Mount Riley. Police and a park ranger responded. There were no injuries.
Police responded to a vehicle accident on Major Road. There were no injuries.
An out-of-state agency requested a message be relayed to a Haines resident. The resident was contacted.
Police served a protective order on a Haines man.
A caller on Mathias Avenue reported an unknown vehicle parked on her property. The owner was contacted and said he would move the vehicle in the morning.
Wednesday, Jan. 20
A caller on Deishu Drive reported being startled by loud knocking on her door. She felt someone was engaged in “nefarious activities.” She was advised to contact police when an event occurs so they can respond. She was referred to another agency for her concerns.
A person reported an intoxicated man had struck him on the hand while he was trying to persuade him to leave a person’s Second Avenue home. Police responded and interviewed the caller and a Second Avenue resident, but the man had left on foot and police were unable to locate him.
Tuesday, Jan. 19
A caller reported she had received two fraudulent text messages.
A person reported receiving threatening phone calls. An officer spoke with the caller.
