An anonymous caller reported a Deishu Drive resident was rifling through vehicles on Deishu Drive and at bars downtown looking for money and alcohol. Officers were advised.

A person reported a Main Street intersection was icy. State road crews were notified.
A caller reported her backpack, previously reported as a theft, was returned with all the contents inside.
Sunday, Nov. 15
A person reported a domestic violence assault. Police responded and arrested a 51-year-old Haines man.
A person reported a single-vehicle accident with no injuries near 21 Mile Haines Highway. Those involved didn’t need assistance. Troopers were advised.
A caller reported ongoing issues with a person riding a snowmachine on the Lutak Spur Road on private driveways. Troopers were advised.
A caller reported someone stole a backpack from her snowmachine.
A person requested extra patrols of an area where he was preparing vehicles to be driven to Anchorage.
Saturday, Nov. 14
A caller asked police to conduct a welfare check on a Soap Suds Alley woman who might be in need of medical attention. Police contacted the woman, who said she was fine.
A caller reported a tree down on Oslund Drive. The borough’s public works department removed the tree.
Friday, Nov. 13
A person reported hearing an explosion on Totem Street and experiencing a simultaneous power outage. The person called back to say the electricity was working again. Alaska Power and Telephone found nothing amiss, and speculated it might have been an animal near a transformer.
A caller reported flames shooting out of a window on Dalton Street. Fire crews and police responded, but found the flames were coming from an industrial burn barrel used at a borough facility.
A person reported sliding off the road at 12 Mile Haines Highway. The person asked for assistance from a tow truck. Police contacted the tow company, which said the person needed to contact the company directly.
Police filed a harassment charge and initiated a case against a Haines man.
A Second Avenue business employee reported an unknown woman was making strange threats in a bar. The person was advised to call back if she received further information. The woman allegedly threatened to “take out” several people. Police were advised.
A woman told police she was parking on Second Avenue for the night because she couldn’t get her vehicle up Young Road. She was advised this could pose a problem for plows. She said she would move her vehicle as soon as possible.
Thursday, Nov. 12
A caller reported their vehicle was hit by an unknown vehicle while parked in a Haines Highway parking lot. Police were advised.
A person reported a vehicle parked in front of a Main Street business all day. Police were unable to locate the registered owner.
Wednesday, Nov. 11
A caller on Haines Highway reported receiving a fraudulent phone call from Jamaica, telling him he would get $5.5 million if he sent $1,000 to the caller. The report was forwarded to troopers.
Tuesday, Nov. 10
A caller reported his vehicle broke down at Picture Point. The caller was advised vehicles left for more than 24 hours on public property would be cited as abandoned vehicles.
A person reported a man digging a hole to bury something on public property. Police responded and found the man was installing a sign on private property.
A Fort Seward resident turned in a suspicious container she found on the ground in front of her house. Police determined the container was trash.
A caller asked police to conduct a welfare check on a man. Police contacted the man’s apartment manager, who said she had seen the man walking across the parking lot earlier that day.
