Thanks to all who participated in the 2015 (Not So) Wintry Games at the fairgrounds on Saturday. Thanks to Takshanuk Watershed Council for running the shooting station at the Bike Biathlon. Thanks to HARK for organizing fun “dog-calling” races. Thanks to Michael Wald for running the tea-making contest, and to all who donated use of axes. Thanks to Tom Morphet for horn playing, the Olympic cauldron, and planning pageantry. Thanks to Haines Hockey and Haines Ski Club for being on the ready, weather permitting. Thanks to Ted Cheney, Adam Richard, and Al Badgley for agreeing to judge chili. And thanks to all who showed up on a 50-degree day in February ready to bike and shoot, race canines, run barefoot over frozen ground, build fires and boil water, and throw frying pans, all in the name of community fun.
