The Haines Venturer Scouts would like to thank the community of Haines for the incredible support for the Outback Dinner and Auction at Harriett Hall! The scouts are so looking forward to adventures and service projects in the land down under early this summer, and such trips are possible thanks to strong community support.

Special thanks go to J .Moody, Joanne Waterman, Lisa Flory, Pam Sloper and Tiana Taylor, who do not even have scouts in the program but gave their personal time and professional talents! Huge thanks to Delta Western, Howser’s IGA, Oleruds Market and Alaska Mountain Guides. So many people have helped us with this event; we really do not know where to start and do not mean to omit anyone.

The Venturer Scouts teach our youths so much: how to meet common goals as a group, how to gain and perfect safe outdoor adventure skills and how to give back to the communities and organizations both at home and abroad through hands-on work.

A special thanks and good luck also go to our fearless adult chaperones who will accompany 20 scouts on the trip: Greg Podsiki, Kim Larson, Inez Gross, Donnie Turner, Al Badgley and Judy Ewald.
