A caller reported a domestic dispute at a Mosquito Lake residence. A state trooper responded and escorted two people to their car. No charges were filed.

Saturday, April 14

A caller reported their vehicle struck a railing at the harbor. A truck parked there rolled from its parking space toward the water.

A caller reported a downed stop sign at the intersection of FAA and Tower roads.

A caller reported her bicycle stolen, but later reported it had been returned.

A caller reported a motorist nearly backed into a pedestrian on Fourth Avenue and said the driver might have a suspended license. An officer responded and did not locate the vehicle.

A caller requested information on Alaska Statutes for disorderly conduct.

Friday, April 13

A caller reported skateboarders at the intersection of Second and Main. An officer advised the children not to skate there. Skateboarders are not allowed on the roadway or on sidewalks in the downtown business area. Skateboarders also were reported at that intersection on April 11.

A caller reported the window of a downtown business was vandalized with red paint shot from a paintball gun. Police said the window was cleaned up and not damaged, and the incident is under investigation.

State troopers were notified of a motorist hitting a moose at 5 Mile Haines Highway. The vehicle was damaged, but the moose appeared to be fine.

Thursday, April 12

A 911 call was an accidental pocket dial from a cell phone. The caller was warned for recurring calls from his malfunctioned cell phone and told accidental calls could impede an actual emergency.

A caller with a protective order violation was referred to state troopers.

A motorist parked illegally on Main Street was told to move their vehicle.

An out-of-town caller requested a welfare check on their housesitters at 1 Mile Haines Highway, due to suspected underage drinking. An officer responded, and everything was fine. A similar call concerning the residence was made the previous day.

A written warning was issued for a vehicle with expired registration.

Wednesday, April 11

A Whitehorse visitor lost her credit cards in Haines and reported that purchases had been fraudulently charged. She canceled the cards. The case is under investigation.

A caller reported an unauthorized burn that hadn’t been called in on Raven Drive.

Tuesday, April 10

A kiteboarder in distress near Pyramid Island was aided to shore in a canoe.

A caller reported a young child was walking in front of a downtown residence without an adult.

There were 15 medical calls and two calls about dogs.
