A Young Road caller reported missing belongings and said he had been living with someone for about a month and believes they might have taken them. A caller from the same residence later reported someone had been trespassing and stealing food from their home daily. Officers conducted extra patrols.
A caller reported two people skateboarding on Main Street. Police did not find anyone in the area.
A caller reported a U-Haul dumped a bag of trash at 7 Mile Haines Highway. They were advised to contact state troopers.
A caller reported a purse had been stolen out of their vehicle at a downtown business. The missing purse was located in the business.
Police asked a Fourth Avenue resident to turn their radio down.
Sunday, May 8
A caller who reported they had been locked out of their car found the key and was able to leave.
Police confiscated a gun for safe keeping from an unsecured vehicle in the school parking lot. The gun was on school grounds illegally, but no charges were filed.
Saturday, May 7
A person came to the police station requesting medical assistance. Emergency medical services responded and the person was taken to the clinic and treated.
A caller reported a water leak at their house on Union Street, right next to the water meter.
A caller reported a horse tied to a pickup truck in front of a local bar and was concerned the horse might get hit as it was in the lane of traffic. An officer responded and contacted the horse’s owner.
A caller reported shots being fired out on the water. Troopers and police responded and made contact with the individuals, who had been shooting from a boat.
Friday, May 6
A local business reported two men had stolen a package of snacks out of a freezer at a downtown business. An officer responded and got a description, but was unable to locate the men.
Police were told approximately 50 children were staying in the school. They made extra patrols.
Thursday, May 5
An officer gave a bear attractant trash warning to a resident who had garbage loose in their yard downtown.
A caller requested extra patrols in the Eagle’s Nest playground. The caller said several cars had been speeding next to the children and one child had to jump out of the way of a vehicle. An officer made extra patrols.
A caller reported a vehicle parked in their RV park property for several hours and asked that it be removed. An officer responded and advised the landowner of the procedure for getting the vehicle towed.
Wednesday, May 4
A local business reported they received a bad check a year ago, have been working with the person about paying and would now like to press charges because they have not yet paid. An officer was advised and initiated a case.
A caller reported that a vehicle being driven by a senior citizen had turned into the wrong direction of traffic on Third Avenue and Main Street. The driver was located and given a warning.
A person reported someone made purchases on their debit card without permission. The incident was a misunderstanding, and the person paid for the items.
A caller reported their vehicle broke down at 9 Mile Haines Highway, was not in the road or a hazard, and they were working on getting it moved.
There were 18 medical calls and two calls about dogs.
