Cheery, smiley faces and starry-eyed children adorned the streets while festive joyous sounds echoed in the atmosphere to surround us with the spirit of Christmas.
The Haines Chamber of Commerce wishes to thank all who helped create this aura for the Haines community Christmas celebration. Specific thanks to the Sheldon Museum and Visitor’s Center for holding open houses; the Visitor Center for sponsoring the cookie and candy contest; the Haines Library for the “Frosty” stories read to our children; Walter Clayton for taking the Santa pictures; a special thanks to the fire department, police, state troopers and Annette Smith and her “Snow Dragon” crew for their participation in the parade; Lee Heinmiller for organizing the parade line up; Howsers IGA Supermarket for donating candy for Santa and to all those who judged, decorated, shared train sets, participated in the parade, and shopped at home. A special hearty thanks to Santa for making the day so special for our little ones and parents, too.
