State troopers were advised of a call about a vehicle in the ditch at 22 Mile Haines Highway.
An officer was advised a car was parked on Main Street and was violating the one-hour parking law.
Sunday, Dec. 12
An officer on patrol found a vehicle in the ditch at 4 Mile Haines Highway and reported there were no injuries. The officer blocked traffic until the vehicle could be safely removed.
Saturday, Dec. 11
A caller reported loud yelling in a downtown parking lot. Officers responded to the area but found no one was yelling.
Friday, Dec. 10
State road crews were advised that a caller reported icy roads and requested sand be put down.
A caller reported a chimney fire at a Beach Road residence. The caller stated they had closed the stove dampers and the fire had stopped but did not know what to do next. Firemen were advised and went to make sure the fire was out.
A caller reported their carbon monoxide detector was beeping, but the meter read at 0 percent. The caller was advised to change the battery and call back if the detector was still beeping.
A bartender requested an officer do a walkthrough at a bar. A responding officer found nothing amiss.
Troopers were advised of a vehicle accident at 22 Mile in which the airbag deployed. The caller said there were no injuries and the vehicle was completely off the road. The caller stated it would be a short while before a tow truck could get out to remove the vehicle.
Thursday, Dec. 9
A caller reported an unknown vehicle had struck his vehicle where it was parked across from the borough office. An officer was advised.
A caller reported a vehicle accident at 17.5 Mile Haines Highway. The caller stated the driver had hit ice and rolled into a ditch. The caller stated there were no injuries and the vehicle was completely off the road. Troopers were advised.
A caller reported a lot of smoke coming from a Deishu Drive residence that could possibly be a chimney fire. Firemen were advised, and the fire was put out before they arrived.
A caller reported their power was off. Alaska Power and Telephone was advised.
An automated alarm reported a fire at a local business. An employee called in to say the janitors dusting had set the alarm off, and there was no fire.
Wednesday, Dec. 8
A caller reported a vehicle accident when two vehicles collided on Fifth Avenue. Damages were reported as minor and no one was injured. An officer was advised.
A caller reported a vehicle accident in which a vehicle ran off the road at 4 Mile Haines Highway. The caller stated there were no injuries. An officer responded, and the vehicle was removed from the ditch.
A caller reported three juveniles were missing. The caller stated the juveniles did not come home from school and feared they were doing something dangerous. The juveniles were located safely on their way home and their parents were advised.
A caller reported a juvenile hitchhiking on the highway wasn’t dressed for the weather. Troopers were advised.
Tuesday, Dec. 7
A citizen called to say a cat was being neglected off Young Road. Haines Animal Rescue Kennel was advised.
There were nine medical calls and no canine calls.
