This is to the people of Haines and anyone who needs to know that 4 Mile and 7 Mile Haines Highway are private property. Sealaska has title to both lands. In the past, these two properties have been disrespected and left a mess. It’s over now. These two places are not for hunters, boaters, campers, or fishing, sport or subsistence. They are Native lands and are sacred grounds. Someone has built a green house at 4 Mile already, and without asking, and it still remains there. I ask, why is this so, and who was it?
Temporary signs are up at 4 Mile and letters were to be given to squatters at 7 Mile by the state trooper, to move and clean up.
