KHNS members filling out ballots for the station’s board of directors will see three declared candidates for four seats. Ballots are due at the station by 5 p.m. Friday or can be delivered in person to the station’s annual membership meeting starting 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Chilkat Center lobby.

Current board members Randy Wiley and Deb Potter of Skagway and Rita Brouillette of Haines are seeking re-election. Potter holds a seat designated for a Skagway resident. All terms are for three years.

No candidates are listed on the ballot for a fourth open seat that has one year remaining on its term. However, member Diana Kelm is seeking the seat as a write-in candidate. Members Dr. Russ Bowman, Eric Kocher and Sarah Cohen fill out the seven-member board of Lynn Canal Broadcasting, Inc.

The meeting will include reports from board officers and from the station’s interim co-managers. The meeting, which marks the station’s 30th birthday, will include a dessert potluck and trivia contest.

Attendance by about 45 members is required for a quorum to conduct business at the meeting. The meeting will be teleconferenced to Skagway, where members will gather at the same time at Skagway Brewing Co.
