The Haines Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its board of directors.

Nominations will be accepted at the Nov. 5 chamber meeting.

Three seats on the board are up for election this year. Board members serve three-year terms.

Nominees must be current chamber members in good standing and must submit a short, one or two paragraph biography by noon on Nov. 15.

Members whose seats are up include bank manager Karl Heinz, bead store operator Jan Hill and graphic arts company owner Evangeline Willard-Hoy. Continuing members are Patty Campbell, Judith McDermaid, Adam Patterson, Greg Schlachter, Joyce Town and Nick Trimble.

Board members are expected to attend chamber meetings, support chamber functions and participate in occasional task force groups or special projects.

Those interested in serving on the chamber board should ask a fellow member to nominate them on Nov. 5.

The chamber advises that residents who plan to nominate someone should ask that member for permission before moving forward with the nomination process. The election is held at the end of the year.
