Twenty-five moose were reported harvested during this year’s moose hunting season in the Chilkat Valley. 

The warm weather led to a slow start to the season, since the bulls were not moving around as much, according to both Alaska Department of Fish and Game area management biologist Hannah Manninen and Alaska State Trooper Josh Whitby. Manninen said once the cooler weather set in, the moose started moving around more, and harvest numbers went up.
