I would vote for Eben Sargent to serve on the Haines Borough Assembly a thousand times—to be a contributing vote in the decisions that steer our community where we want to be. After two years of witnessing him at planning commission meetings, I am continually impressed and inspired by his thoroughness. He is quick and accurate on his feet. He is consistent about the level of accountability he expects while considering plans throughout our community, displaying fairness and attention to detail. The questions he asks both while preparing for and during meetings are at all times expository and considerate of individual factors. He is dedicated to helping community members and developers bring plans to fruition, while considering all the right factors to make them successful and safe for all parties. He asks longevity-minded questions, extending the payoff of projects as well as increasing the number and demographics of those who benefit. Eben contributes curiosity and perspectives that he, uniquely, brings to the dais. He is meticulous. His decision making is diverse and well determined, showing independent thought. Moreover he has contributed significantly to proactive plan making for our future while building strong relationships working with borough staff. I believe that his balanced perspectives and careful explorations make electing him to the assembly a strong move for everyone.
