There are many good reasons to keep the pool open this summer, the least of which is that we can afford to, and I would argue that we can’t afford not to. The pool saves lives, builds community connections as swimmers are all ages and come from all walks of life, and it’s critical for mental and physical health. As Haines re-opens for business this summer, we especially need safe places for the children of working families to play during the school break. Please join me in asking the manager, Mayor and assembly to keep the pool open.
