So, fellow Hainesians, can we stand it? So many words plus a photo dedicated to my story.

I, a generally private sort of woman, now find myself out in the public in a way that I hadn’t exactly anticipated. Except of course, that I did say yes to an invitation to be interviewed, to do something I’d never done before, why not? He handled my messy life gracefully; I’m satisfied plus being a little embarrassed and stunned by it all.

Though he got the tone right, there were some inaccuracies, I want to clarify three of them.

1.”Longtime Chilkat Valley Resident:” most people here in my age category (79) have been here for decades. My 15 years at 22 Deishu is a record for me, while not truly a long time.

2. I had three readings with that relocation astrologer, the last was in early 2011 after I’d signed the mortgage, before I’d moved here. The astrological situation that predicts ill health actually exists in all three of the places I’ve lived in Alaska. I believe he was especially strong with his “leave immediately” message regarding Haines because buying a house (for me the first, only time) spoke of permanency.

3.Though I stay away from commercial, non-organic food as much as I can, I did eat both dinner and desserts at that amazing Haines Community Thanksgiving. I was sort of helpless in that situation.

For closure, that fish soup of mine turned out great, thick, not broth-y after all.
