Multiple callers reported that the school zone lights were not activated on the Haines Highway. A borough police officer and public works were notified. 

A caller requested a welfare check on the Haines Highway. The Haines  police department, Alaska State Troopers and Alaska State Parks were notified. Haines police and state parks responded. 

Haines police received two protective orders from the court. 

Monday, Oct. 21

Haines police booked a subject on First Avenue into protective custody, under a mental health hold. 

A caller reported multiple suspicious activities involving an ATV on Deishu Drive. An officer was advised. 

Tuesday, Oct. 22

The fire department performed a service call in Haines. 

A caller requested a trespass notice for a subject on Fourth Avenue. An officer responded and issued a trespass notice. 

Wednesday, Oct. 23

An officer stopped a vehicle on Small Tracts Road and gave the driver a verbal warning. 

An officer stopped a vehicle on the Haines Highway and gave the driver a verbal warning. 

Thursday, Oct. 24

A caller reported a suspicious person with a firearm in the roadway along the Haines Highway. Officers responded. 

A caller reported and turned in found property. It was posted on social media and the owner picked up the property. 

A caller requested a welfare check on Allen Road. Haines police and volunteer firefighters responded. 

An officer stopped a vehicle on the Haines Highway and gave the driver a warning. 

Officers responded to a call about an impaired driver on Main Street. The driver was arrested. 

Friday, Oct. 25

An officer checked a vehicle’s registration on Second Avenue. 

A caller on Beach Road requested to speak with an officer about harassment. An officer responded. 

There were two 911 hangup calls, no canine calls, four EMS calls, and 14 burn permits issued.
