Balanced and wise planning is essential to chart a course for our community into the future. The planning commission leads this effort. Effective members of the commission must keep both short-term and long-term effects in mind as they make their decisions. For this reason, I endorse the candidacies of Rachel Saitzyk and Dan Schultz. Rachel runs a small business in town and understands the need for planning, and the needs of businesses, on a personal level. I have worked with Dan on research into local fisheries resources and know him to be thoughtful and intelligent. Both Rachel and Dan are committed to our community and its well-being now and into the future. Our planning needs will be well served by both, and I urge you to give them your votes.
