I would like to acknowledge publicly my appreciation to Craig Franke from CWS. He has consistently been a supporter of the efforts in community building at Four Winds Resource Center. It has not been just a one-time event but for years he has been willing to make trash disposal easier for out-the-road residents. Even when things went wrong, he didn’t quit, as most would have, but rather was willing to try a new system that seems to be working better.
It is really nice to have people in our community that support each other. Craig understands how communities happen and that we need to work together and support each others’ efforts. Haines does not have enough volunteer or financial resources to be fighting and impeding each other’s work.
Frequently this community building “out the road” has struggled to get support from town. So it feels significant and worthy of acknowledgment when someone makes a consistent effort to help our community.
