Caller advised that a bear got into a dumpster at a local business on Dalton Street and scattered trash all over her yard.
Monday, Sept. 30
Caller advised that there had been crashing all over the outside of her Haines Highway house since 4 a.m. She said it sounded like metal. An officer responded and found that a bear had torn the door off a trailer on the property.
Caller requested a welfare check in the Haines area. Caller does not know where the person lives and does not have a phone number for them. Caller believes they may be living with their boyfriend, but are not sure. Caller was advised to leave a listener personal at the radio station.
Tuesday, Oct. 1
Caller from River Road advised that an injured bear is back on the beach and moving slowly. The state’s bear biologist and the wildlife trooper were informed.
Caller advised that a person they know attempted to contact another person through them. Caller said that the person has a stalking order out against them from the other person. Caller stated they told the person not to call them again.
Caller reported a non-injury accident with damage to his bumper.
A driver got a verbal warning for failing to come to a complete stop on Third Avenue.
A driver on the Haines Highway got a citation for speeding.
A caller on FAA Road advised that a bear got into someone’s garbage.
Wednesday, Oct. 2
Caller reported a door to a business on Fair Drive standing wide open. The building was dark and the open sign was off. An officer responded and found the owner working at the building.
Thursday, Oct. 3
Caller advised he found fresh blood all over his deck and bloody bear prints in the yard. Caller took pictures of the blood and prints for the bear biologist.
Caller advises that a bear walked into his shed last week while he was in there working on Small Tracts Road. Caller stated the bear also grunted at him today and acted aggressively. Caller advises it is the injured bear.
Caller advises that a previous renter has been making threatening statements and refusing to pay rent. Caller was directed to contact the court.

Friday, Oct. 4
Caller requested help hazing a bear that won’t leave on FAA Road. A wildlife trooper responded to the request.
AST requested assistance from members of the volunteer fire department to help with a search and rescue in the mountains along the highway. Everyone was safely transported off the mountain.
Caller reported that he was assaulted by someone in Haines. An officer responded and an investigation is ongoing.
A driver received a verbal warning for equipment on the Haines Highway.
Saturday, Oct. 5
A caller reported a vehicle accident that happened two days ago.
A caller reported the public trash cans at Picture Point had been dumped over and trash was everywhere. An officer responded and found that a bear had made the mess.
An abandoned trailer at Picture Point was given a warning sticker to move.
Police and firefighters from Haines and the Klehini Valley fire departments responded to a report of a large building fire and extinguished it.
There were two 911 hang-up calls, one canine call, six EMS calls and 16 burn permits issued.
