A Main Street business owner reported she received a call from a man requesting personal information. The man hung up when she said she was going to call the police. The call appeared to be a scam.

Sunday, Nov. 30

A library employee notified police that the smoke alarm had gone off but there was no emergency.

Saturday, Nov. 29

Police received a 911 call from a Barnett Drive resident who reported her carbon monoxide detector was beeping. Fire personnel responded but couldn’t find a carbon monoxide leak.

Friday, Nov. 28

A Barnett Drive resident reported not having running water. Borough crews were advised.

Police served a protective order on a resident living near the intersection of Union Street and Third Avenue.

Police served a small claims packet on a resident.

A resident turned in a credit card belonging to another person. The owner claimed the card.

The owner of a local business called with a question about parked vehicles blocking access to a utility pole on Young Road. An officer responded and spoke with the business owner.

Thursday, Nov. 27

Police served a civil packet on a business near the intersection of Main Street and Second Avenue.

A Barnett Drive resident reported water flowing out of the water main. Borough crews were advised.

A person reported a single-vehicle crash with no injuries at 15 Mile Haines Highway. Troopers were advised.

Wednesday, Nov. 26

A Vermeer Street resident reported seeing a flashlight in a neighbor’s yard. The caller thought this was suspicious. An officer responded but couldn’t find anything suspicious.

A resident living near the intersection of Young Road and Muncaster Road reported a theft from their home had occurred two weeks ago. An officer responded and determined the incident was a civil matter involving a person who had moved out.

A caller reported seeing juveniles on a roof near the intersection of 0 Mile Haines Highway and Mud Bay Road. An officer responded and found workers repairing the roof.

The Office of Children’s Services asked police to perform a welfare check on a parent who hadn’t picked their child up from school. An officer investigated and found the parent was intoxicated. Police were ordered to place the child in the protective custody of a day care center.

An officer arrested a man at a lodging near 1 Mile Haines Highway for involvement in the previous day’s burglary.

Tuesday, Nov. 25

An officer advised lights were out all over town except for the school.

An anonymous caller reported a person staying at a Mud Bay Road residence where they were prohibited from being due to conditions of release. An officer attempted to make contact at the residence but no one was home.

A person brought in surveillance pictures of a suspect in a burglary that occurred overnight. Police investigated and initiated a case for burglary and theft.

A caller reported a hit-and-run driver damaged his car on Nov. 22 while it was parked in a parking lot near the intersection of Main Street and Fifth Avenue. Police were advised.

A motorist on the Haines Highway reported a man walking along the highway with a flashlight and looking into the bushes. The caller thought this was suspicious. An officer responded but was unable to locate the man.
