A caller reported icy conditions on Deishu Drive. Dispatch assured him the borough was sanding.

A motorist reported an unoccupied child stroller on Mud Bay Road. Owners retrieved it.

Friday, Nov. 20

A caller visiting a Deishu Drive residence reported a domestic dispute involving an assault and possible violation of conditions of release. An officer contacted the caller, who recanted a previous statement. The officer determined there were no signs of injury.

A business owner reported receiving a fraudulent phone call stating she’d won a jackpot.

Thursday, Nov. 19

A Tower Road resident asked police to drive through Fort Seward due to unusual vehicles in the area. An officer who drove through was unable to locate the described vehicles.

A Lynnview Drive resident reported a suspicious man standing outside her home. An officer responded but found no sign of footprints in the frost or other signs of foot traffic in the area.

An FAA Road resident reported several items had been taken from her home after a stay by a housesitter. The value of the items has yet to be determined. Police initiated a theft case.

A business owner at the airport reported a small pile of firewood taken from near his business. The caller said he didn’t want to file a theft report, but wanted police to have the information.

School officials contacted police regarding students found with marijuana and fireworks. An officer responded and initiated a juvenile case.

An officer found a vehicle had gone off the road near the airport. The vehicle was moved. State road crews sanded the area.

A caller reported a minor, who was housesitting, had been consuming alcohol while at the house. An officer contacted the caller and continued an investigation into the minor’s actions.

Wednesday, Nov. 18

A caller reported his vehicle had run out of fuel on Beach Road and he would move it by morning.

A person living in the Young Road area reported a man walking down the road carrying two chainsaws. A man who matched the description told an officer he didn’t have any chainsaws and said he was returning home from the store. The next morning, a passerby found two chainsaws on Lutak Road, not far from Young Road. Police initiated a theft case.

Tuesday, Nov. 17

A motorist on the Haines Highway reported a white car off the road near 11 Mile Haines Highway. The caller said he didn’t see anyone around. Troopers and DOT were notified.

A person reported being in a Main Street business when the respondent to a domestic violence protective order also came in. An officer determined no violation took place.

A caller reported a single vehicle rollover near 6.5 Mile Haines Highway. Troopers, police and ambulance personnel responded.

A motorist reported icy conditions on the Haines Highway and asked state road crews to sand.
