Now is a time of great need for civility and cooperation in our community and in our municipal government. To see us through these challenging and budget-limited times, we need partnerships and collaboration between the Haines Borough and the organizations and nonprofits in Haines that improve quality of life for all. We need leaders and officials who embrace inclusivity and transparency to get things done.
My vote for Mayor goes to Tom Morphet. Tom has worked hard for Haines and reaches out to all parts of the community. He has served on the borough assembly, and he knows the realities of operating a small business in Haines. He cares deeply about diversity and he values non-profits. He has volunteered in many organizations. We need someone like Tom to lead Haines by connecting the dots between municipal, private and nonprofit resources, someone who can help navigate another community visioning project for Haines. Tom is a great mayoral candidate looking out for Haines’ future.
