I am a former Southeast Alaska State Fair member and volunteer who boycotted this year’s fair due to a blatant non-family oriented political decision. That decision is offensive to a great number of our tax-paying volunteers. Such imprudent management of the fair should be cause for debate about future borough funding and tenure of fair management. Businesses should also reconsider sponsorship of the fair to avoid collateral “woke” sponsorship.
