A PBS documentary featuring the Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve will air on PBS on Tuesday, July 18.
The documentary is part of The Iconic America series, hosted by investor and philanthropist David Rubenstein, examining 400 years of iconic national symbols and their meaning.
Mario Benassi, an educator and filmmaker for Takshanuk Watershed Council said he’s excited to see the documentary he helped work on two years ago when Rubenstein came to the preserve with a large film crew. Benassi said chatting with the billionaire was at times challenging.
“He was quite the character,” said Benassi. “Super tough for me to talk to him because he comes from the world of money and finance.”
But he said Rubenstein told entertaining stories about his friend, former U.S. president Donald Trump.
