Kathy and I support Margarette Jones for the Haines Borough Assembly because she grew up in Haines, graduated from college with a degree in political science, and chose to return to Haines to use her education to benefit Haines! She has volunteered for various worthwhile activities, including helping build a church/school in Africa; was director of a non-profit in Portland, Oregon to teach healthy family relationships; assisted in campaigns for an Oregon legislator and a county-elected position (one Democrat and one Republican) and plays piano at the Presbyterian Church. Yes, she works at the Constantine Mine to help make sure it is done right, if it is done. She knows the environment must be healthy because she has fished commercially and her family is and has been very active in the salmon and halibut fisheries. Vote for Margarette!
