The Mosquito Lake Community Center, aka Four Winds Resource Center, has been going strong this summer. The wonderful kids summertime fun program is in progress. Special thanks go to Stacee Powlison for leading the charge and a generous donation from Dogwood Forest Products to support activities. Camp attendees have been exploring, cooking, tie dyeing, creating and playing through the month of June. A movie night and pizza party is scheduled for July 27.
The mushroom cultivation workshop, sponsored by the Victory Garden and RURAL CAP, taught by Tommy and Sandrine Thompson, was amazing! Their knowledge is top notch and their willingness to share it with our community is invaluable! Thanks so very much. Those that attended can’t wait to harvest our blue oyster mushrooms. The Victory Garden is planted and looking great. We invite you to come out and join us as we tend and harvest each Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Our next workshop on building a bioreactor composter is July 24 at 11 a.m.
